The Omnitec Nitro 600 air filtration system will help you safely meet your project requirements with a standard HEPA filter efficient to 99.97% @ 0.3 microns.  

Protecting the HEPA filter is a primary/secondary filter that is dual density, MERV 8 rated with an antimicrobial treatment, according to Omnitec Designs.

A respiratory protection program is important to establish in certain work environments in order to control occupational diseases caused by breathing air contaminated with harmful dusts, fumes, gases, smoke and many other potentially harmful vapors.  OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and NIOSH (the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) regulations define all specific requirements, which must be followed.  Employers must follow the requirements of these governmental regulations, both the general regulations and the regulations when it comes to certain industries such as lead, silica dust, asbestos and ammonia.  According to OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134) there are 7 key elements that every respiratory protection program should have:

1. A written plan detailing how the program will be administered
2. A complete assessment and knowledge of respiratory hazards that ill be encountered in the workplace
3. Procedures and equipment to control respiratory hazards, including the use of engineering controls and work practices designed to limit or reduce employee exposures to such hazards
4. Guidelines for the proper selection of appropriate respiratory protective equipment
5. An employee training program covering hazard recognition, the dangers associated with respiratory hazards, and proper care and use of respiratory equipment
6. Inspection, maintenance, and repair of respiratory protective equipment
7. Medical surveillance of employees

Molds can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually any organic substance, as long as moisture and oxygen are present. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, foods, and insulation. When excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or un addressed.

Mold is found both indoors and outdoors. Mold can enter your home through open doorways, windows, vents, and heating and air conditioning systems. Mold in the air outside can also attach itself to clothing, shoes, bags, and pets can and be carried indoors.  If there is mold is growing in your home or office, it is important to clean up the mold and fix the moisture problem. Mold growth can be removed from hard surfaces with commercial products that Essco carries.

MOLD PREVENTION TIPS

• Keep the humidity level in your home between 40% and 60%. Use an air conditioner or a dehumidifier during humid months and in damp spaces, like basements.
• Be sure your home has enough ventilation. Use exhaust fans which vent outside your home in the kitchen and bathroom. Make sure your clothes dryer vents outside your home.
• Fix any leaks in your home's roof, walls, or plumbing so mold does not have moisture to grow.
• Clean up and dry out your home thoroughly and quickly (within 24-48 hours) after flooding.
• Add mold inhibitors to paints before painting.
• Clean bathrooms with mold-killing products.
• Remove or replace carpets and upholstery that have been soaked and cannot be dried promptly. Consider not using carpet in rooms or areas like bathrooms or basements that may have a lot of moisture.
